What changed

  • Earlier pension increase. The increase was moved forward from September to June 2026. SSS set aside about ₱6.5 billion for the June to August releases.
  • Easier emergency loans. The contribution requirement was cut from 36 to 18 months: members now need 18 posted monthly contributions (with at least six in the last 12 months) to qualify. Members with past-due loans of up to three monthly amortizations can still apply. About ₱27 billion is allocated.
  • Condonation of loan penalties. Members with overdue loans can have penalties fully waived once the principal and interest are settled.
  • Employer relief. Delinquent business and household employers can settle unpaid contributions under structured payment arrangements “without additional penalties.”

SSS did not state closing dates for these programs in its announcement. Before applying, check the program’s status on the My.SSS portal or at an SSS branch.

What to do now

If you are a pensioner

  1. Compare your pension credits from June 2026 with earlier months. A retirement or disability pension should be 10% higher; a death or survivor pension 5% higher.
  2. If the increase is missing, ask your SSS branch or contact SSS through My.SSS, and bring your pension records.

If you are a member who needs a loan or has overdue loans

  1. Log in to My.SSS and check your posted contributions. You need at least 18, with six in the last 12 months, for the emergency loan.
  2. If you have an overdue loan, apply for penalty condonation online through My.SSS and choose lump sum or installment payment.
  3. If your employer deducted contributions but they are not posted, that can block your loan. See what to do about unremitted SSS contributions.

If you are an employer with unpaid contributions

  1. Ask SSS about CPCoDe MRP (businesses) or CPCR-P (household employers) to settle arrears in installments.
  2. Settling arrears protects your workers’ eligibility for loans and benefits and reduces your exposure to penalties and suits under RA 11199.

Under RA 11199 (Social Security Act of 2018), the Social Security Commission may approve pension increases when they are actuarially sound. Employers must register their employees and remit contributions on time; late remittance carries a 2% monthly penalty.
