Payslip Comparison & Payroll Query Builder
Check a payslip and draft a payroll query
Compare amounts you have checked with the matching entries on your payslip. This worksheet compares your figures; it does not decide your legal entitlement or select a wage rate.
Prepare your figures first
Use the overtime guide, night-pay guide, holiday-pay calculator and contribution tools to check the relevant basis. Match the contents of each row on both sides, including whether overtime is full pay or only an extra premium. Count every earning once.
Use one pay period throughout. Enter 0 only when you have confirmed nothing belongs in a row. Leave unverified amounts blank. A complete net comparison requires all rows; neither a blank nor a missing payslip entry is assumed to be zero.
Using figures from the Shift-to-Payslip Checker?
Use the same payroll cutoff and the same row basis on both sides. The shift checker’s basic-rate value includes all worked hours, including overtime. Its additional overtime premium is only the extra premium. Check how payroll groups those amounts before entering them here.
Use these figures only for this worked example: an ordinary 8 a.m.–7 p.m. shift, unpaid 12–1 p.m. meal, PHP 100 hourly rate and confirmed coverage gives 8 regular + 2 overtime hours, totaling PHP 1,050. If payroll separates regular basic from full overtime pay, enter 800 in Basic wages and 250 in Overtime pay under “My checked amount”. Enter the matching actual payroll figures under “Payslip amount”.
The shift worksheet shows the same PHP 1,050 as PHP 1,000 all-hours base + PHP 50 extra overtime premium. Do not combine PHP 1,000 base with PHP 250 full overtime. If payroll explicitly uses a base-plus-premium-only split, compare PHP 1,000 and PHP 50 on that same basis instead.
No overtime, other premiums or an unclear basis?
An ordinary eight-worked-hour example at PHP 100 gives PHP 800 basic and PHP 0 overtime. Use zero only when confirmed. Holiday/rest-day and night pay may be grouped differently; monthly salary may already include some amounts. Ask payroll for the component breakdown rather than applying the ordinary-day example or subtracting guessed amounts. Count every earning once.
One shift does not cover a whole multi-day payslip. Include the verified earnings and deductions for the same cutoff. For an hours-only result or an unknown row basis, leave unverified amounts blank. A blank row prevents a complete net comparison.
Review the shift checker’s worked example and assumptions. The ordinary-day example uses the DOLE 2024 Handbook’s overtime rate for covered work; it does not establish anyone’s entitlement.
Transfer figures manually after checking them. Opening this worksheet does not carry over shift entries.

Checking an unexplained or disputed deduction?
Use one cutoff and record each actual charge separately before combining verified amounts in a worksheet row. “Contributions and withholding tax” is for those statutory items; use “Other deductions” for other charges. Check duplicate entries, loan balances and whether an adjustment belongs to this cutoff.
Unknown is not zero. If you cannot verify the proper deduction, leave its checked amount blank and describe the disputed payslip entry below. You can still draft a partial query. A complete comparison requires every row to be verified; the worksheet does not decide whether a deduction is lawful.
In your notes, identify the entry label, date and amount. Ask payroll for its basis, itemized computation, supporting record, any authorization relied on, and the proposed correction date if an error is confirmed. Keep the original payslip, attendance or leave records, relevant agreement, bank-credit record and written response. Redact unrelated account and identity details before sharing copies.
Read how to check and dispute a salary deduction or decode payslip abbreviations. A correct total does not establish that every charge is allowed. Compare your actual bank credit with the payslip net separately.
No name, employee number or private case details are needed. The worksheet code runs in your browser and does not save or send your entries. Download anything you want to keep before leaving.

A positive net difference means your entered comparison net is higher than the payslip net. A negative figure means it is lower. Neither proves an underpayment or overpayment without verifying the pay rules and records.

Method: earnings minus deductions, with differences calculated in centavos. Formula and blank-entry checks tested October 1, 2026; this is a functionality check, not a legal-review credit.
