PREPARE YOUR HANDOVER RECORD
Handover + company-property return builder
Prepare a handover plan, property-return inventory, follow-up log and editable status email. Save a work file on your device if you want to continue later, then coordinate the actual handover with your employer.
A generated record is not proof of receipt. Pending, sent, handed-over and acknowledged items stay separate. This tool does not confirm completion, grant clearance, settle accountabilities, establish legal immunity or guarantee payment. A recipient must actually acknowledge the relevant items.
The builder processes entries in this browser tab; its code does not send them to the website or use persistent browser storage. There is no autosave. You can explicitly save and reopen a private work file on your device. Its tool-usage events contain no form values, history entries, work-file contents or document text. Do not enter passwords, access credentials, confidential business data, customer details or sensitive personal information. Use neutral labels and fill sensitive details offline through your employer’s approved process. Copying puts text on your clipboard; downloading saves a file on your device.
Continue later
Save a work file to continue on this or another device. It contains your entries, follow-up history and any edited pack text. The file is not encrypted. Keep it private, especially if you entered names or sensitive details.
The builder does not autosave. Opening a work file reads it in this browser tab; the builder does not upload it to the website. Other website services remain subject to the site’s privacy policy. Keep the file on a device you trust. The work file is for reopening work; use the reviewed .txt pack when sharing a handover document.
Opening this file will replace the entries and pack currently on this page. Save your current work first if you need it.
1. People and proposed arrangements
Names are optional; role labels are enough. Blank optional fields become clearly marked placeholders. Dates are proposals only and do not establish an agreed deadline.
For actual past receipt, cite the dated acknowledgment in the item’s reference field. Agree the receiving person, location, method and timing separately; do not enter a private address here.
2. Work handover
List up to eight work items. Blank items are ignored. Describe work at a high level; do not paste files, confidential procedures or login details. “Ready or shared” does not mean the recipient acknowledged it.
3. Company-property return
List up to eight property items. Blank items are ignored. Record quantities, accessories and condition. Courier dispatch, a delivery attempt or leaving an item at reception does not by itself establish acknowledgment by the authorized recipient.
4. Follow-up history
Record actual contacts, return attempts and replies. Keep planned actions in the next-step fields above. Brief references are enough; do not paste confidential messages or upload evidence.
Your activity log is editable and based on what you enter. It is not a verified or tamper-proof record. Keep the original emails, receipts and other lawful supporting records. Adding an acknowledgment event does not change or verify an item’s status.
Leave blank if unknown. The pack will say “Date not recorded.” Do not invent an event date.
Up to 300 characters. Use neutral descriptions and keep sensitive details in the original records.
No history entries recorded.
Remove this entry from your editable history? This does not alter your original evidence.
Building again replaces edits in the document below. Nothing is sent to your employer by this tool.
Clear all entries and the current document? Save a copy first if you need it.
Rebuilding will replace your edits to the pack. Save a work file or copy the text before continuing.
Opening a file does not verify its contents. Review what the text says before sharing it. If inputs changed, rebuild the pack first.
Your handover pack is ready to review
Complete employee placeholders before sending. Leave the recipient acknowledgment fields blank until the receiving person actually checks and completes them. Remove inaccurate statements.
Edit this text directly. Copy and download use your latest edits. Save work file also keeps your edited text. Rebuilding replaces these edits after confirmation. You can add more items offline. Keep acknowledgment fields for the actual recipient; do not pre-sign on their behalf.

Manual handover and return checklist
This checklist works without the builder. Use your employer’s official form if one is required.
- List each work item, current status, next action, intended recipient and proposed handover date. Keep pending items separate from acknowledged items.
- List each property item, quantity, inventory label, accessories and condition. Agree who will receive it and how it will be returned.
- Separate planned return, dispatch, physical handover and actual acknowledgment. Keep original dated emails, signed receipts or other lawful records; record any exceptions or unresolved points.
- Ask the actual recipient to identify the specific items received, date and time, observed condition, exceptions, name or role and signature or written acknowledgment. A blank or self-generated form is not receipt confirmation.
- Send a factual completion or status update through an approved employer channel. Ask for written confirmation of what remains outstanding. Keep a lawful copy without retaining confidential company files or access credentials.
For access handover, ask IT or the authorized administrator to transfer ownership and revoke access through the company’s process. Do not include or share passwords in this document.
Choose your next step
- Review company clearance and final-pay issues if a sign-off or accountability is unresolved
- Read the incomplete-turnover guide if work or property remains outstanding
- Compare an itemized final-pay statement when you receive the employer’s computation
- Plan final-pay follow-up separately from the factual handover record
- Review the resignation and final-pay process for the wider exit checklist
